Driving the transformation of Antel’s digital experience

About the client

Antel is Uruguay’s leading telecommunications company and one of the region’s foremost technology players. Its digital platforms are used every day by thousands of people and businesses to find information, sign up for services and manage their accounts.

For the past two years, Sagant has partnered with Antel on user experience projects, contributing a team that combines professionals embedded full time with specialists who join specific consulting initiatives.

The challenge

The constant evolution of Antel’s digital products and services called for a user experience approach that could guarantee consistency across platforms, uncover what users actually need, and speed up the design of new initiatives without sacrificing quality.

The challenge was not simply to design new interfaces, but to build in a strategic UX perspective capable of supporting multiple projects, products and high-impact campaigns at the same time, while keeping the experience coherent across the entire digital ecosystem.

The solution

Sagant assembled a multidisciplinary team of researchers, consultants and designers specialized in user experience, working as one with Antel’s internal teams.

Over this period, the team took part in roughly 10 strategic projects, supporting the design and evolution of around 8 digital products and platforms.

Key initiatives included:

  • User research to understand needs, behaviors and opportunities for improvement.
  • Definition of user experience strategies for digital products and services.
  • Design and evolution of specialized sites such as Antel Hogar, Antel TV, Antel Gaming and Antel Sustentable.
  • End-to-end redesign of Antel’s self-service ecosystem, including the GSE corporate portal and Mi Antel, the self-service platform for individual customers. The project began with in-depth research into the state of the platforms and user needs, producing the insight that guided the redesign.
  • Ongoing evolution of Antel’s corporate website.
  • Design of digital experiences for high-demand commercial campaigns, including Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Children’s Day, Cyber Monday and major sporting events.

Results

Bringing in a professional user experience practice strengthened the way Antel designs and evolves its digital products.

Key outcomes include:

  • Greater efficiency in the design process, cutting down on iterations and getting solutions to development teams faster.
  • A unified set of user experience criteria, introducing methodologies and best practices drawn from the team’s experience on digital transformation projects.
  • Faster response to commercial initiatives, making it possible to deliver multiple campaigns and products during peak demand without compromising the quality of the experience.
  • User research systematically built into decision-making, particularly in the redesign of the self-service ecosystem.
  • A consolidated UX methodology embedded in Antel’s ways of working, leading to design decisions that are more consistent, more agile and more closely aligned with user needs.

The solutions developed are now part of some of Antel’s main digital channels and improve the experience of everyone who interacts with its digital services on a daily basis.

Added value

Beyond interface design, Sagant brings consulting capability that combines research, strategy and design to support the continuous evolution of complex digital products.

Pairing professionals dedicated to day-to-day work with specialists who contribute expertise on specific projects made it possible to establish user experience as a strategic discipline within Antel. This approach helps accelerate the evolution of its digital channels, improve consistency across products, and strengthen decision-making grounded in a real understanding of user needs.
